ANXIOUSNESS!
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
This month of May is MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
This years theme is ‘ACTION.
Today we will talk about ANXIOUSNESS.
ANXIOUSNESS is the negative emotion that we all seem to suffer from on a daily basis without us really noticing it until we become aware of it, and then we can observe it from a distance. When you observe something from outside of yourself, from a distance and analysis it with great accuracy it’s impossible for it to engulf you entirely, as it has been doing when you were experiencing it, AND UNAWARE OF IT.
This is the way to get familiar with the emotions without getting caught up in them.
I have shown you the treatment of recovery before I have mentioned the symptoms.
You can recognise the symptoms quite easily by the way you feel inside, but because it is a very common complaint, you may be falsely believe it is a normal feeling that we should just put up with and press on “WHITE KNUCKLING IT” and “Treat it as the norm”.
But why should you suffer unnecessary when you could quite easily operate 85% better ‘production wise’ without it.
I will proceed by explaining some of the symptoms of anxiousness, then you may become ‘MORE AWARE’ of what I’m talking about?
Symptoms of being Anxious ARE:
The feeling you are rushing all the time.
Growing Tension in the back of your neck and shoulders.
Missed heart beats, or palpitations.
High blood pressure.
The feeling of Doom and Gloom.
Constant and repetitive worrying.
Dizziness, trembling, sweating, dry mouth, nausea, and headaches.
Lack of sleep (insomnia).
Constant anxiety over almost everything you get involved in.
Chronic anxiety can cause simple work to take 2–3 times longer than necessary due to over-checking, perfectionism, or avoidance.
You may, or may not, recognise some of these symptoms that I have wrote down above. You probably thought they were normal feelings we all have?
This day and age we operate on a very height-stress-rate-driven system, that needs ‘URGENT ATTENTION’ from us that puts us on constant demand of URGENCY. But we don’t need to get all wrapped up in it that much that it carries us along with the momentum, if we can stay grounded and focused in a way that we can keep our poise and remain self disciplined and dignified.
It all comes down to Practicing Acceptance once again. Accepting the way we feel by NOT trying to push these feelings away, or avoid them, but to welcome them instead, so we can take this opportunity to practicing how to ignore them. 🤪😳???
I know this sounds totally insane but just think about how you can gain back your self control over the way you are thinking and behaving, if you COULD overcome these Negative Emotions, you would definitely get that ‘EUREKA MOMENT’ that I got when I eventually ‘Found the Plot’.
But you won’t get any better at coping with anxiousness if you keep just putting up with it. You will only get better if you start Practicing Acceptance and start Observing and Analysing it from a distance, from OUTSIDE of all the ‘CHAOS’ and ‘MAYEM’ that Anxiousness brings with it.
Treat it as a tornado that’s happening from a distance. Be constantly aware of which direction it is travelling and make sure you DON’T go THERE.
